• Urns for Ashes….What Makes our Urns Special?

We take our responsibility as a retailer of quality, hand-made Urns for ashes very seriously.  We appreciate that these are not just everyday products; they are home to the ashes of your loved one.

    Bespoke Urns for Ashes

Many Urns are mass-produced, and as such the attention to detail and personal touch is missing. We believe that the entire process of creating an Urn should be a little more bespoke.

Our design process, when creating an Urn for ashes, starts at the very beginning with beautiful materials and craftsmanship skills passed down through generations.  Our Urns are not mass-produced.  They are made by skilled artisans to limited production runs and each one is uniquely different.  Each one will have very slight differences and this is what makes our Urns special.

    Beautiful Raw Materials

Each of the raw materials, whether wood, aliminium or brass, are sourced and inspected carefully to ensure absolute quality.  The craftsman will then start to shape and finish the Urn.  Decoration will be added afterwards to one of several designs, and will be applied by hand.  Our processes ensure that the finish of your Urn will be remain perfect over many years.

Once the Urn has been completed it will then be inspected for blemishes, with tolerance levels checked for the lid.  This process can take a long time and is never rushed.

Finally, the Urn is securely packaged and delivered to Urns With Love, ready to be dispatched to our customer.  We don’t hold large amounts of stock as we prefer to keep adding to our range and offering as much variety as possible.

Our commitment to quality doesn’t end there though.  Before any of our Urns are sent out, we physically inspect each one once again to ensure that it is in perfect condition.  Our protective packaging means that the Urn will reach you in perfect condition.

    Attention to Detail

We believe that this obsessive attention to detail, for a product so important, is what makes our Urns for ashes a fitting place for your loved one’s ashes.

This is what inspired our name, Urns With Love.  Each Urn is genuinely made with Love.

  • Cremation history and the development of urns

Cremations date back to the early Stone Age, around 3,000 B.C. The practice has an interesting history and created division around the world about whether it should be done at all. A number of religions were against it because they believed in preserving the whole body of the deceased. Several of them have changed their attitudes as time has gone on, but some still hold to their beliefs and do not use cremation.
